About TeensHealth
Welcome to TeensHealth
We're a safe, private place for teens who need honest, accurate information and advice about health, emotions, and life. TeensHealth is accessible 24 hours a day so you can get the doctor-approved information you need to make educated decisions — or help a friend who needs advice. There's a lot of confusing, misleading, and just plain wrong health information on the Web. Our mission is to tell it to you straight.
TeensHealth is part of the KidsHealth family of websites. These sites, run by the nonprofit Nemours Center for Children's Health Media, provide accurate, up-to-date health information that's free of "doctor speak."
A team of pediatricians and other medical experts reviews all KidsHealth content regularly to ensure the information is as current as possible. That doesn't mean TeensHealth takes the place of an in-person visit with a doctor. Nothing beats a personal consultation with a physician who can get your health history, do a physical exam, and talk with you one-on-one. What TeensHealth can do is help you learn ways to keep your body and mind healthy.
Nemours Center for Children's Health Media
The Nemours Center for Children's Health Media is a part of The Nemours Foundation, a nonprofit organization created by philanthropist Alfred I. duPont in 1936 and devoted to improving the health of children.
The pediatrician-led Center is unique in the nation with its exclusive focus on children's health media. The Center offers a post-residency fellowship for physicians seeking to further develop their skills in health communications.
The Center's recent projects include The Pink Locker Society, a novel that aims to educate and entertain preteen girls; and the Healthy Habits for Life Resource Kit, a DVD and 100-page booklet — produced in collaboration with Sesame Workshop — that helps preschool teachers incorporate healthy physical activity and nutrition habits into everyday routines. We also created Fit Kids, published worldwide by Dorling Kindersley, an illustrated book to help parents keep their kids and teens eating healthy and active.
Licensable Health Information and Media Inquiries
The Center also creates children's health information for licensed use by hospitals and corporations. Our business development team welcomes inquiries from organizations regarding collaborative or licensing projects. Requests from the media for interviews with KidsHealth experts are welcome. For permission to reprint or link to KidsHealth content, see our Permissions Guidelines.
Partnership Opportunities
KidsHealth partners with corporations, foundations, and other groups that support the mission of KidsHealth. These partnerships help to fund additional KidsHealth educational programs for families. We welcome you to join us in supporting families.
Tell Us What You Think
We depend on you — and our millions of other visitors — to let us know your thoughts about KidsHealth, how we've helped you, and ways we can improve the site. If you have a correction to request, please send that along, too. I guarantee we'll listen.
